THE CONSORTIUM FOR MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE TREATMENT OF MARESME PLAYS AN ACTIVE ROLE IN THE XIII MATARÓ SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE

The director of the Consortium for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment of Maresme, Carles Salesa, has actively participated in this conference. On the one hand the director of the Consortium gave, on the 8th April, a talk on the Tecnocampus Mataró-Maresme, entitled “Waste, circular economics and local actions”. Next Saturday 16th the Consortium is also participating, with a stand in la plaza Santa Ana and other central streets, in the traditional activity of science in the street with the Scientific Conference Fair. Participants are: Aguas de Mataró, COSMOS, LAC, Escuela de Naturaleza del Corredor, Consortium for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment of Maresme, a delegation from Sierra Litoral Central of the Institucíon Catalana de Historia Natural and Som Energia. Throughout the afternoon of the same Saturday the VIII Scientific Gymkhana will take place, which will have the environmental sensitivity of global understanding as its central theme.
The Conference was opened by the Mayor of Mataró and President of the Consortium of Waste, David Bote, and Carmina Piña Salomón, Director of Territorial Service in Maresme-Vallès Oriental from the Department of Education, and Dolores Guillen Mena, President of TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme.
The Mataró Scientific Conference is the initiative of a group of science teachers from various public and private secondary schools in Mataró and the surrounding areas, with the objective of stimulating and spreading scientific work among young people, and by extension, the public in general.
